We take glory where we can

"I can burp the alphabet," boasts Caleb, aged 7.
I declined the demonstration.
He took it manfully in his stride.

Quite a feat, should it have occurred.

He took it manfully, but the boy will out sooner or later. Most likely with a house full of relatives.

That's so cute.
Charlie, I bet the relatives would think it cute, too.
Amazing what you can do at seven.

I'm not sure about the relatives bit, Penny.
Little boys, rather than girls in my experience, will work very hard to hone and perfect skills that are only truly appreciated by their peers, and not at all by adults.

Yup. The boy is always lurking there, Charlie. I'm inclined to think the boy will out sooner AND later.

I'd like to hear that...
And then I'd teach him to burp it in French but then I always was impressed by the oddest things in my own children....

J.: I understand burping in Spanish, but were it French I would be quite lost.
